What  Should  TeenAgers DO If Their  Parents Are  Fighting?

Most of the time, parents can differ and yet have a civil conversation about it. Other times, parents are vehemently opposed and dispute. Arguments have been described as "word battles." The traditional adage "sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me" is just false.

It's natural for teenagers to be concerned when their parents fight. Young children are terrified, unhappy, and upset when their parents yell. When parents are angry with each other, they may use silence to show their feelings.

  1. Make your own secure space

When your Parents dispute, you may become upset, angry, nervous, depressed, irritated, or stressed. If possible, move to a different room or a location where you feel comfortable and secure. Teenagers could put on earbuds and listen to music or play a game so you don't hear the fighting.

  1. Change your location temporarily

You may ask a trusted neighbour, friend, or relative whether you could pay them a visit. Even the time it takes to get there can be beneficial to your mental health. If you know your Parents quarrel frequently, you could ask them if you could come over whenever the atmosphere at home becomes uncomfortable.

  1. Discuss it with someone

Seek help from someone you can trust. It could be a sibling (if you have one), a friend, a family member, a doctor, or a therapist. Teenagers should talk to someone about their Parents.

  1. Make an effort to do something that makes you happy.

When you're going through something like your Parents constantly bickering, it's especially crucial to look after yourself. As a Teenager, you should find ways to make yourself better during your Parents’ argument.

It is very important for Teenagers to take care of their mental health. While your Parents fight or argue, Teenagers should seek some guidance or help from adults or friends.

When your parents argue, the best thing to do is to stay out of the argument. For instance, go somewhere else in the house, or go outside. It's their fight, and it is not your job to be an Arbitrator or Referee!

After things have calmed down, tell your parents how much their arguing upsets you.
