What if your message is not being ignored—just not being remembered?
Today at EY Gurgaon, Shiffy Srivastava, Founder & CEO, Improvables Academy® and Executive Communication & Leadership Coach, conducted a session on the Fundamentals of Storytelling with Directors and the Senior Leadership Team.
What started as a storytelling session became a deeper conversation about leadership communication.
Because every leadership story has three parties:
1. THE LEADER — What do I want to say?
2. THE LISTENER — Why should I care?
3. THE MESSAGE — What should stay with me?
We explored a simple framework:
HOOK → STORY → MEANING
The Hook makes people listen.
The Story makes them connect.
The Meaning makes them remember.
Because a strategy needs to be understood.
A change needs to be embraced.
A vision needs to be believed.
And sometimes, a story bridges the gap between:
“I heard you.”
and
“I understand why this matters.”
That is why storytelling is not merely a presentation skill.
It is a leadership capability.
A meaningful session, powerful conversations and another reminder:
The best stories don’t make the leader look good.
They make the message impossible to forget.
