Nautical Science

Nautical science, is more on the theoretical and practical knowledge required for navigation, cargo operation, and ship maintenance and operation. This is that field in the maritime industry where hands-on training as a deck officer and detailed procedure and maintenance techniques of deck machinery are valued. This science also studies special training on sailing, boat handling, rope and rope ladder climbing. One starts in nautical science as a trainee cadet officer, until necessary requirements such as sufficient time at the sea and passing competency exams that one is promoted to become a deck officer.

Nautical science has learn about Nautical Navigation. Nautical Science Studies teach how to safely operate and maintain the ship and also to navigate. Two courses are coming under Nautical Science Studies. They are as follows

BSc Nautical Science course assists a person to grow to be a deck officer and land you up as a deck cadet, second officer, chief officer and finally a captain. BSc Nautical Science subjects consist of direction-finding and seamanship. BSc Nautical Science teaches many subjects for the duration of the course of 36 months which include:

Diploma in Nautical Science

Diploma in Nautical Science is one year maritime studies in nautical science. DNS Course leading to BSc in Nautical Science. After 18 months of sea service & also leading to 2nd Mate Foreign going Certificate of competency awarded by the Ministry of Shipping, Government of India, allowing the cadets to become Navigating officers on board Merchant Navy Ships wherever in the world.

DNS course assists to learn about how to well plan breakwaters and plan seawalls and also learn how to analyse, make planning and evaluate everything and finally make the report. Diploma in Nautical Science teaches many subjects for the duration of the course of 12 months which include:

Marine Engineering

Marine engineering is that engineering field that deals with machinery on ships, boats, yachts or any sea going vessels. Basically, marine engineers are in-charge of the engineering in the maritime industry. The field of study is focused on the specialized knowledge of both theoretical and practical marine and mechanical engineering. Operation and maintenance of machinery on board ships is an important competency as a marine engineer, which is why the course is filled with laboratory and workshop training to be able to have hands-on knowledge of dismantling and maintenance of machines on ships.
