Hierarchy of categories / groups, Major groups of plants (salient features) (Bacteria, Thalophyta, Bryo phyta, Pteridophyta, gymnosperms and Angiosperms). Major groups of animals (salient features) (Non-chordates upto phyla and chordates upto classes).

Health and Diseases: Health and its failure. Infectious and Non-infectious diseases, their causes and manifestation. Diseases caused by microbes (Virus, Bacteria and protozoans) and their prevention, Principles of treatment and prevention. Pulse Polio programmes.

Unit III: Motion, Force and Work
Motion: Distance and displacement, velocity; uniform and non-uniform motion along a straight line; acceleration, distance-time and velocity-time graphs for uniform motion and uniformly accelerated motion, equations of motion by graphical method; elementary idea of uniform circular motion.

Force and Newton's laws: Force and Motion, Newton’s Laws of Motion, Action and reaction forces, Inertia of a body, Inertia and mass, Momentum, Force and Acceleration. Elementary idea of conservation of Momentum.

Gravitation: Gravitation; universal law of gravitation, force of gravitation of the earth (gravity), acceleration due to gravity; mass and weight; free fall.

Floatation: Thrust and pressure. Archimedes' principle, buoyancy, elementary idea of relative density.

Work, energy and power: Work done by a force, energy, power; kinetic and potential energy; law of conservation of energy.

Sound: Nature of sound and its propagation in various media, speed of sound, range of hearing in humans; ultrasound; reflection of sound; echo and SONAR. Structure of the human ear (auditory aspect only).

Unit IV: Our environment
Physical resources: Air, Water, Soil. Air for respiration, for combustion, for moderating temperatures; movements of air and its role in bringing rains across India.

Air, water and soil pollution (brief introduction). Holes in ozone layer and the probable damages.

Bio-geo chemical cycles in nature: Water, oxygen, carbon and nitrogen.

Unit V: Food Production
Plant and animal breeding and selection for quality improvement and management; use of fertilizers, manures; protection from pests and diseases; organic farming.

Practicals
1. Preparation of:

a) a true solution of common salt, sugar and alum
b) a suspension of soil, chalk powder and fine sand in water
c) a colloidal solution of starch in water and egg albumin/milk in water and distinguish between these on the basis of
transparency

a) a mixture

using iron filings and sulphur powder and distinguish between these on the basis of:

7. Determination of the melting point of ice and the boiling point of water.

8. Verification of the Laws of reflection of sound.

9. Determination of the density of solid (denser than water) by using a spring balance and a measuring cylinder.

10. Establishing the relation between the loss in weight of a solid when fully immersed in

a) tap water
b) strongly salty water, with the weight of water displaced by it by taking at least two different solids.
11. Determination of the speed of a pulse propagated through a stretched string / slinky.

12. Study of the characteristics of Spirogyra / Agaricus, Moss / Fern, Pinus (either with male or female cone) and an Angiospermic plant. Drawing and providing two identifying features of the groups they belong to.

13. Observing the given pictures / charts / models of earthworm, cockroach, bony fish and bird. For each organism, drawing of their picture and recording:

Today, according to the dashboard of the government on 22/03/2020, there are 337 confirmed cases of corona virus.
If we study the spread of coronavirus in Italy, France or America, we get information that -300+ Corona cases means that Thousands of Indians have already been infected. (May be 10000, 20000 or more) This number will appear in days.
Do not choke, this is the reality. If we do not want to let it go further, we will have to stay at home for at least 21 days. It looks very difficult but unfortunately there is no way to avoid coronavirus. China did the same, so virus control has come there. Italy has delayed further lockdowns, and results.
Many people understand what happens to 330 cases in this country with a population of 130 crores? Do not make such a mistake and whenever such thoughts come to mind, see the last 20 days situation of Italy, Spain and America. You will understand how the number of confirmed cases rises from 300 to 20000+ in 20 days, the hospital follies cease, the percentage of deaths increases. Even the treatment of heart attack, strokes and other diseases. There is no place in the hospital.
Therefore, if you want that our country and our business reach the least damage from corona, then action is needed immediately. Every day carelessness can spread infection to thousands. Whether you do it yourself or the government, the 21-day lockdown is the only solution.

बहुत से लोग यह समझते हैं कि 130 करोड़ की population वाले इस देश में 330 cases से क्या होता है? ऐसी गलती ना करें और जब भी मन में ऐसा विचार आए तो इटली, स्पेन और अमेरिका की last 20 दिन की इस्थिती देख लें। आप समझ जाएँगे कि किस तरह से 20 दिन में confirmed cases की संख्या 300 से 20000+ पहुँच जाती है, hospital फ़सिलिटीज़ ख़त्म हो जाती है, मरने वालों का percentage बढ़ जाता है।यहाँ तक कि heart attack, strokes और अन्य बीमारियों के इलाज के लिए भी हास्पिटल में जगह नहीं रहती है।

जो कुछ कहने की हालात में नही है, इटली ने इस कोरोना वायरस के आगे घुटने टेक दिए हैं लाशों को उठाने के लिए पूरी #आर्मी को लगा दिया है हर तरफ हॉस्पिटल में लाशें ही #लाशें दिखाई दे रही है शहर के अंदर इतनी जगह नहीं है कि उनको दफनाया जा सके। इसलिए आर्मी सैकड़ों ट्रको में लेकर शहर से बाहर दाह संस्कार के लिए ले जा रही है!

ये हालत जब हैं जब #WHO की ओवर आल मेडिकल फेसेलिटी रैंकिंग में इटली 2 नंबर पर है इतनी अच्छी मेडिकल फैसिलिटी होने के बावजूद ये हाल है जबकि भारत की रैंकिंग तो 112 नंबर पर है अगर यहाँ तीसरे चरण में फैल गया तो आप ही अन्दाज लगाइये क्या होगा ???
