·       Advantages-
1.    Canada has world class colleges and universities providing students with a high quality education which are equivalent to those obtained from US, UK or any commonwealth countries.
2.    As compared to the countries like US and UK, Canada has lower tuition fees, accommodation expenses and other living expense.
3.    In Canada also, students have the option of working while studying if they are doing any full time course. Students are allowed to work 20 hours per week during session and in breaks they are allowed to work full time.
4.    Another advantage of study in Canada is Post-Graduate work permit with the help of which a student status can be changed to permanent resident. It can be given for a maximum of 3 years.
5.    Canada emphasis more on students. Country wants student to come in Canada and study and contribute socially and economically and stay permanently.
6.    In Canada, students with good skills and credits can easily find a long future.

·       How to apply for studying in Canada-

1.    Firstly, students need to identify the college/university along with the program he/she wants to pursue.
2.     After understanding all the requirements of the selected institute and program, student must take all the required exams and attain the required score so as to apply to the selected university/college.
3.    It is advisable to start the planning of study in Canada 1 year before so that student can prepare timely for exams and can score good in those exams and can timely apply to desired college/ university.
4.    Once you have scores of your relevant exams then you can apply in your desired university/ college.
5.    After applying, students will receive a confirmation from the college/university which is an acceptance letter.
6.    After receiving acceptance letter, student can now apply for visa. If student has applied to any institution of Quebec then along with acceptance letter a Certificat d’acceptation du Québec” (CAQ). Will also be submitted for Visa.
7.    After clearing Interview successfully, student will get his/her study visa and then he/she can plan and leave accordingly for Canada.

·       Cost to Study in Canada-
Apart from the student visa cost there are other cost too which a student need to calculate.
1.    Tuition Fees-
Tuition fees depend on which course a student chooses and from which university/ college.  For UG program fee can CAD 12,000- CAD 25,000 per year (approx.), for PG program fees can be CAD 14,000- CAD 35,000 per year (approx) and for PhD it can be CAD 7,000- CAD 10,000 per year (approx).
2.    Accommodation expense-
In Canada also, student have on-campus and off-campus accommodation option. For on-campus, cost can be between CAD 8,000 – CAD 10,000 per year (approx) and for off- campus it can be between CAD 400- CAD 700 per month (approx). This cost depends on the location student chooses to live.
3.    Living Expense-
Living expense include communication, travel, books and supplies, personal expenses and incidentals. On an average the living expense can be CAD 15,000 (approximately). Again this living expense depends on the living standards of a student in Canada.
4.    Health Insurance-
A student must be backed by a health insurance if he/she is planning to study in any country other than India.
5.     Taxes-
If you work while study or during breaks then also, your income is taxable. Also if you get any scholarship or assistance for studying in Canada from the Institution then the government may tax that also.

·       Education Loan-
Many students have potential to study abroad and have a great career in future but what stops them from achieving their dream is the financial aspect. Students can either take education loan from bank or can apply for scholarships as well.
Basic documents required to submit for applying education loan are-
1.    Admission letter from university/institution (Proof of admission)
2.    Loan application form
3.    Passport size photographs
4.    Academic documents (certificates and mark sheets)
5.    Documents of qualifying exams (like GMATIELTS)
6.    Resident proof of the student and the guarantor
7.    Statements of borrowers bank accounts (last one year)
8.    Income proof of the guarantor

·       Eligibility -
1.    Candidate should be an Indian National.
2.    Candidate should have secured admission to the courses through entrance exam.
3.    Candidate should have secured admission to foreign university.
4.    Candidate should be of 18 years or above.
