· Advantages-
1. English language is used in colleges/ Universities as well outside in Singapore so it is easy for Indian students to communicate and need not worry to learn a new language before planning to study in Singapore.
2. On a whole, study in Singapore is less expensive as compared to other foreign countries like UK, US or Australia.
3. In Singapore, quality of education is quiet good and few universities or colleges are among the top list around the globe. Also other country colleges and universities have also established their branches in Singapore and providing a good quality education.
4. Singapore is rich in its culture, religions, food, architecture and one can experience such diverse culture at one place.
5. Also Singapore is one of the safe places to live and mode of transportation is also good.
6. Singapore is known to be an innovative and competitive country and so here business programmes are quiet popular and many options available to study under business program.
· Disadvantages-
1. Yes English is a common language in Singapore but apart from English another language is mostly used in Singapore and that is Singlish which is a mixture of Malay, Hindi, Tamil, Hokkien, Mandarin and English. So one might face difficulty at times.
2. Singapore is not much expensive country but since it is a small country and so rental places and utilities are quiet expensive.
3. Also the Singapore Government has put limits on the number of international students and it has come down to 15% from 18%.

1. Masters of Business Administrations (MBA) - As discussed above, Singapore in education is best known for its MBA. One can study Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration, International Master of Business Administration (IMBA), Dual MBA, Global Masters of Business Administration, Certificate in Management Studies, Master of Business Administration in Aviation and Master of Business Administration Treasury Management.
2. Banking and Finance-
As we know that in Singapore we have good number of global companies and so here banking opportunities are high and therefore education related to banking and finance is pretty good.
3. Engineering –
Next best course in Singapore is engineering as it is a technological Hub. As per reports after management, engineering has the highest number of International students in Singapore. Some of the popular engineering courses are Bioengineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering.
4. Computer Science and IT –

The UG LLB course is of 4 years but if student has previously completed any degree and is qualified for graduate LLB then only 3 years will be needed to complete it.

· Documents Required to Study in Singapore –
1. Student is required to submit the copy of certificates and mark sheets which are asked by the college or University for admission.
2. Student is required to submit his/her scorecards of IELTS/TOEFL and GMAT exam or any exams.
3. If a student wants to pursue MBA from Singapore then it mandatory to have 2-3 of work experience and one has to submit the proof of the same to the university/college along with the letter of Recommendation.
4. Also, students who want to do PhD from Singapore, have to submit Letter of Recommendation and a Statement of Purpose (personal essay) as to explain the reason of doing their PhD from a particular chosen field.
5. The students may also be asked to submit a certified copy of their birth certificates or identity proofs and medical reports.
· Education loan-
ü Eligibility-
1. The student should be an Indian citizen.
2. Student has been confirmed admission into the University/college of Singapore.
3. Age proof certificate
4. Proof that the college/ university is recognized by the concerned authorities.
ü Documents required-
1. Mark sheets of the last qualifying examination for school and graduate studies in India
2. Proof of admission to the course
3. Scheduling of expenses to the course
4. Copies of letter confirming the scholarship
5. Copies of foreign exchange permit, if applicable
6. Two passport size photographs
7. Bank statement for the last six months of the borrower
8. Income tax assessment order not more than two years
9. Brief statements of assets and liabilities of the borrower.
10. Residence proof ( in Certain cases)
· How to apply for studying in Singapore-
ü Requirements-
1. Minimum academic record of 70% in class 12th (for government universities) and below 60% is also considered by the private institutes and polytechnics.
2. Student should be 18 or above for applying a degree program.
3. Minimum English Language Requirements (differ from university to university)
ü Documents required-
1. Attested marksheet of class 10th, 12th and Bachelor’s degree(if applicable)
2. At least 2 Academic reference letters from the faculty who have recently taught.
3. If student has work experience then he/she has to submit 2 letter of recommendation (LoR) received from the employer.
4. Statement of Purpose (SoP)
5. Resume
6. Copy of score cards of GMAT/ IELTS/ TOEFL.
7. Proof of Funds
8. Other certificates and achievements at the state or national level in any extracurricular activities.
9. Portfolio, in case student chooses any art, design or architecture program.
· Cost of study in Singapore-
The cost of studying in Singapore includes mainly 2 types of costs and that is living cost and educational cost.
· Living cost -
1. This cost is fully controlled by the student himself.
2. He/she has the option to either increase it or decrease it from a specific amount.
3. The average living cost can be between SGD $2,000 to SGD $12,000 per month.
· Education Cost-
1. This cost is not at all in control of a student.
2. The tuition fees is different in different colleges/ University depending on the course opted by the student.
3. Education cost for UG Program can be between INR 12-20 lakhs per year and for PG program it can be between INR 12-18 Lakhs.
4. But in Singapore there is an option of getting subsidy on this tuition fees.
5. If student agrees to serve Singapore Government for 3 years after the completion of the degree then this subsidy can be given.
6. This subsidy amount and application can vary depending on the college/ university selected by the students.
· Work option while studying-
1. If you are doing a full time course then you are allowed to work 16 hours a week during the school year and full time during vacations.
2. Also in most of the courses, internship programs are included to provide students with better application of their study.
· Documents for Student Visa (known as Student Pass in Singapore)–
1. Your valid passport. You have to submit a copy of particular pages of passport
2. You must carry the departure/arrival card granted on entry into Singapore. If you have been residing in Singapore on other long term passes, you have to bring along that pass as well;
3. One recent color passport-sized photograph (taken on white background);
4. The printout of e-Form 16 submitted through SOLAR (duly signed by the applicant);
5. If your documents are in native language, you must get an official English translation of the documents.
6. A copy of the in-principle approval letter; and
7. A medical report in the prescribed format and make sure that the report are not more than 3 months old from the date of issue.
NOTE-
1. To apply for Student pass, one has to submit the application for the same on the official registration system known asStudent’s Pass On-Line Application & Registration (SOLAR) system.
2. Before submitting the above application, the institute where you got admission have to register you through SOLAR and after being registered by institute you have to fill e-Form 16.
3. The copy of this form will be submitted to apply for Student Pass.
