Definition:

Psychology is a humanities or a social science subject that is concerned
with the study of human behaviour and their mental processes.

They specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of the abnormalities in
the mental and emotional state of the brain and psychological problems.

The treatment that they perform is therapy and counselling based.
·
This is the major difference between a psychologist and a psychiatrist –
a psychiatrist is essentially a medical degree holder who can prescribe
medicine while a psychologist cannot. The difference is to be carefully noted.
