WHY TEENAGERS FIGHT WITH PARENTS SO MUCH?

It is a commonly acknowledged fact that Teenage is a trying time in life, even more so for parents than for their children. One of the most common characteristics of every family with a teenager is frequent bickering over the most little of topics. Tantrums, groundings, and screaming battles are all too common.

To begin with, hormones can always be blamed. Apart from the obvious, here are the top ten reasons why Teenagers and their Parents have a falling out.

❖ Drop in Grades in School

Teenagers frequently experience a drop in grades as a result of increased difficulty levels of schoolwork, novel courses, more socialising, and simple carelessness. Parents who try to impose curfews and set aside time for studying sessions irritate them

 ❖ Alcohol and Smoking

Most Teenagers begin experimenting with new things when they reach the age of adolescence. Cigarettes, on the other hand, are extremely damaging to one's health. As a result, Parents are concerned about their children drinking or smoking on the side, which leads to an increase in Fights. Teens who are confronted directly on issues like these are more likely to lie and deny, which leads to disputes.

 ❖ Regulations and Rules

Teenagers have a reputation for being unmotivated rebels. It's possible that this is justified. Any rules imposed on them are an attempt to restrain them. They despise authority and will go to great lengths to break and bend rules. While much of this is a natural part of growing up and learning what is right and wrong, it does take its toll on Parents, and Fights are unavoidable.

 ❖ A Bad Diet

Teenage years are marked by a lot of partying and eating out. Teenagers develop a craving for unhealthy but tasty fast food, much to the displeasure of Parents who feel that good nutrition is essential for a growing body. Parents are concerned as cold drinks, burgers, and pizzas take the place of nutritious, home-cooked meals.

❖ Spend far too much time on the Mobile Phone

This is one of the most common complaints among Parents. They are concerned that their Teenagers spend far too much time staring at their phones. As a result, the two have more Fights.

 ❖ Curfews

The fact that their Parents want them to get home earlier than they would like is a big source of annoyance for most Teenagers. Parents normally establish a suitable time limit for their Teenagers, whether it's for a late-night party or a date they're returning from. This normally does not sit well with their Teenagers, who frequently arrive late simply to protest against authority.
