Analytics and Data Science Jobs in India

Analytics and Data Science Jobs in India

According to data from professional education company Imarticus Learning, the number of open analytics and data science jobs increased by 30% in April 2022 compared to April 2021.

The research, titled "Analytics & Data Science Jobs in India 2022," describes the state of analytics and data science employment in India as a whole, including how the pandemic damaged it and how it has since recovered.

Compared to the 9.4% global open jobs in June 2021, 11.6% of the total open positions came from India alone. An increase in open positions observed by captive centres, ongoing domestic company investments in building analytics and data science capabilities, a significant shift of domestic and foreign IT and KPO organisations to India, increased funding for AI and analytics-based start-ups in India, and an increase in open positions are all factors contributing to this growth.

With 51,100 available positions, or 28.0% of the market, Bengaluru overtook Delhi NCR as the top location for analytics and data science experts for the sixth consecutive year. Employees are returning to their jobs at a higher rate than in other cities, which supports the rise.

In India, the analytics and data science industries have grown during the last ten years. With the current epidemic, it is even more crucial for firms to invest in these talents by selecting the best candidates in a market that is always changing. According to Nikhil Barshikhar, founder and MD of Imarticus Learning, the industry has also experienced an increase in new job opportunities due to the growing volume of data and the availability of advanced analytics tools and platforms.

The number of open positions requiring 5 to 10 years of experience increased by 1.5 times in 2022 (70,300 jobs) compared to 2021 (48,200 jobs), Similar to this, advertised available positions in the Rs 25–50 lakh wage range experienced the biggest y-o-y growth (15.2k), rising from 3,500 in 2021 to 18,700 in 2022, while those over the Rs 50 lakh threshold saw an increase of 270 from 2021 to 5,4500 in 2022. One in four (24.1%) of these available positions are for data engineers, while nearly one in three (31.2%) are for engineering students.
